The Story of the Frogs

Ceramic frogs have become a mascot for A Wonderful Space. It all started with an idea I had to convince realtors that they should have all their listings staged. I came up with the concept of sellers having ceramic frog collections, and believing that dusting them was their idea of getting their homes ready to put on the market. (As a former realtor, I have seen some very odd collections, and sellers can't wait to have a steady stream of buyers through to admire them.) I needed a photo to illustrate my point, so I searched for ceramic frogs on the internet. I was shocked to find that there were over three thousand frog figurines for sale. This problem was larger than I thought! So, I settled on a photo of four of the little green amphibians, with these particular ones playing musical instruments. I created a flyer around this photo and sent it out to area realtors.

One night at a dinner party, I relayed this story to Mike's sister, Patty, and her husband, Rob. A few weeks later, at a dinner to celebrate my certification, Patty and Rob presented me with a gift. After the usual "you shouldn't have," I opened it up and found two ceramic frogs; one playing a horn and the other a drum. Though they were certainly intended as a gag gift, I fell in love with the little guys immediately. Since then, I purchased another ceramic frog, and darned if three of something doesn't make a collection! So, here I am, never again to make fun of anyone's collection, and that is how my company acquired a mascot!
